It’s normal to notice small moisture pockets beneath the film for two-four week after installation. Because the film is applied using a wet method, this moisture will naturally evaporate as the film cures. Please avoid touching or attempting to remove any moisture pockets by hand or with tools, as this can damage the film. If you observe any bubbles larger than a penny, please notify your Perfect Finish NC Service Advisor right away for assessment.

You may notice slight silvering—a faint silver or white appearance along film edges or seams—after installation. This is completely normal and occurs as moisture works its way to the film’s edges during the curing process. These areas will be inspected and addressed during your 2-week checkup. In addition, some moisture pockets or subtle installation lines may appear similar to debris or defects in the film. These typically diminish as the film continues to cure over the following weeks. If any concerns remain at your 2-week checkup, please bring them to your Perfect Finish NC Service Advisor’s attention at that time.

Please avoid washing the vehicle for the first 2-weeks after installation. The film is strong, but still needs time to cure. Meaning the edges are vulnerable to lifting when exposed to high pressured water or forced air. Normal rain or wet driving conditions will not harm the film during this time.

To maintain your warranty, all Paint Protection Film (PPF) installations require a routine 2-4 week checkup. This appointment allows our team to carefully inspect the film, ensure full curing, and verify that all edges and surfaces have properly settled. To schedule your checkup, please contact our team at your convenience.

After your 2-week checkup, your vehicle may safely go through a touchless car washes only! Even when hand washing or using a touchless system, avoid applying high-pressure water or air too close to the film’s edges. As a general rule, keep all nozzles and pressure wands at least 24 inches away from the surface of your vehicle.

Environmental contaminants such as bird droppings, bug splatter, leaves, tree sap, and water spots should be removed promptly using your preferred pH-neutral quick detailer and a soft microfiber towel. These substances can etch into the film if left untreated—just as they would damage unprotected paint. For more stubborn marks, a mixture of 99% isopropyl alcohol and a clean microfiber towel can be effective. If further action is needed, please call our team!

SunTek and STEK Paint Protection Films feature advanced self-healing technology, designed to repair surface scratches & swirls with heat. Minor marks typically fade within 20–30 minutes. To accelerate the process, you may pour warm water (around 120°F) over the affected area. Never apply direct flame or use mechanical polishing or buffing tools, as this can permanently damage the film.
Please note that scratches penetrating through the top self-healing layer may not recover fully and could require panel replacement.
Maintaining your Modesta ceramic coating or Paint Protection Film has never been easier. Following the proper care process will ensure your finish continues to look flawless and perform at its highest level for years to come.

All Modesta ceramic coatings require time to cure after installation. To ensure proper bonding and long-term performance, avoid washing or exposing your vehicle to chemical cleaners for at least 2-weeks after application. Light rain or moisture will not affect the curing process.

To ensure continued protection of your investment, we recommend using Modesta’s line of professional maintenance products — M2 Blast, M3 Fire, and M4 Smoke — with every full ceramic coating installation. These products are specifically engineered to maintain the hydrophobic, glossy, and self-cleaning properties of your coating.
(Note: Modesta maintenance products are formulated for coated paint surfaces only and should not be used on glass, trim, or interior materials.)

Even with Modesta’s advanced protection, environmental factors, road tar, or industrial contaminants can build up over time. If your coating’s hydrophobic properties begin to fade or the surface feels rough, schedule a professional decontamination wash with our team to safely restore the performance.

A properly maintained Modesta coating will exhibit strong water-beading and sheeting behavior. While reduced water repellency can indicate contamination on the surface, it does not necessarily mean your coating has failed. Regular maintenance and occasional professional decontamination will keep it performing as intended.

Routine washing is essential to preserving your coating’s performance. We recommend washing your vehicle using the process below for optimal results:
Step 1 – Pre-Wash: Begin by degreasing the exterior of your vehicle with a universal degreaser. Spray evenly across all exterior surfaces, allow it to dwell for 30–60 seconds, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Step 2 – Foam Wash: After degreasing, prepare two buckets with grit guards and add 1mL of pH-neutral soap per 5 gallons of water. Add the same amount to your foam cannon, apply foam to the vehicle, and rinse.
Use a high-quality microfiber wash mitt and wash in straight lines to avoid micro-scratches.
Step 3 – Post-Wash Conditioning: While the surface is still wet, apply Modesta M4 Smoke as a wet conditioner. Spray evenly across the paint and spread gently with your wash mitt. Allow the product to dwell for up to 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with purified water.
Step 4 – Drying: Dry the vehicle using compressed air or ultra plush drying towel. Starting from the top and working downward to avoid dragging contaminants.
Step 5 – Final Protection: Once the vehicle is dry, apply Modesta M2 Blast as a finishing spray. Mist lightly onto the surface and wipe clean with a soft, dry microfiber towel to enhance gloss and hydrophobicity.

Do Not Roll Down Windows! It’s essential that windows remain rolled up for the first 3-5 days after installation in warm conditions, or up to 10 days in colder weather. Rolling windows down too soon can cause the film to shift or peel, leading to installation failure.

After installation, it’s normal to notice a slightly hazy appearance or small moisture bubbles in the tint. These are simply signs of the curing process and will naturally clear as the moisture evaporates, typically within 7–10 days.
Please do not press on or attempt to remove any bubbles — they will settle on their own as the adhesive fully cures.

After your tint has fully cured (typically 10-14 days), you may clean the windows as needed using a soft microfiber towel and an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, & paper towels, as they can scratch or dull the film.

Your window tint is designed to withstand daily driving conditions and resist fading, bubbling, or peeling for years. However, it’s important to: Avoid applying stickers, decals, or suction cups directly onto the film. Use care when loading items near the windows to prevent scratches or edge damage. Keep sharp objects, seat belt buckles, and pet claws away from tinted surfaces.

At Perfect Finish NC, we stand behind our workmanship and the premium products we install. Most window tint films include a limited manufacturer warranty covering defects such as peeling, bubbling, or discoloration under normal conditions.
For details about your specific film brand and coverage, please refer to your warranty card or contact our team for assistance.

You may notice a faint silver or white appearance along the edges of defroster lines or window dot matrices (the small black textured areas near the edges of the glass). This is completely normal and occurs as small pockets of moisture settle around these raised surfaces during the curing process. Please do not press or attempt to smooth out these areas — they will gradually clear as the film continues to cure and bond to the glass.

Window tint removal should always be performed by a trained professional. Attempting to remove the film yourself can cause the film and adhesive layers to separate, leaving behind stubborn residue that is difficult to clean without proper tools and techniques. If you ever need your tint removed or replaced, please contact Perfect Finish NC to schedule a professional removal appointment — our team will ensure the process is done safely and cleanly.
Vinyl is one of the best ways to customize your vehicle! To maintain the longevity and finish of your vinyl wrap, gently hand wash your vehicle using vinyl-safe products and soft microfiber materials. Remove contaminants quickly and avoid automatic brush washes to help prevent scratching, lifting, or discoloration over time.

Please avoid washing your vehicle for the first 14 days after installation. During this initial curing period, the film’s edges are more sensitive and may lift if exposed to high-pressure water or forced air. Normal rain or light moisture will not affect the film during this time.

For the best results and to protect your vinyl, we recommend hand washing using a proper two- or three-bucket method and high-quality wash mitts and microfiber towels. Avoid automatic car washes, as the abrasive brushes can scratch and damage the vinyl surface. If hand washing isn't possible, a touchless car wash is a safer alternative — however, be aware these systems rely on stronger detergents, which may reduce the longevity of the finish over time.

Environmental contaminants such as bird droppings, bug residue, tree sap, and water spots should be removed as soon as possible using a vinyl-safe quick detailer and a soft microfiber towel. These substances are acidic and can etch into the vinyl surface if left untreated, similar to how they would affect unprotected paint. Prompt cleaning will help preserve the finish and appearance of your vinyl.

Although vinyl films are designed to be temporary, the adhesives used are strong and require proper removal techniques. Do not attempt to remove vinyl yourself without consulting a professional, as improper removal can damage the underlying surface or leave behind difficult adhesive residue.
Perfect Finish NC offers professional removal services, including prep, safe film removal, and post-removal surface cleaning to ensure a clean and damage-free result. In some cases, trim pieces or components that were removed for a seamless installation may also need to be removed again during the removal process.
